In the department of Vehicle Engineering, there are 15 faculty members including 4 professors, 7 associate professors and 2 doctoral supervisors. It’s the first-class discipline of Hunan province, which takes responsibility for large quantities of big programs for science and technology development of the nation and the provincial ministries and commissions. It has formed the specialized characteristic and discipline advantage in the fields of vehicle driving/brake integration, new energy vehicles, intelligent driving, vehicle structural strength, vehicle suspension, vehicle power steering, super charging, special vehicle, etc. Besides, the institute has built up a friendly relationship with enterprises such as BYD, Jeep, Changfeng Cheetah, Shanghai Volkswagen, Kingle Aluminum, Wuhan Bus, etc. for the further cooperation. It effectively explored the directions for the construction of new-engineering and the cooperation between the school and enterprises.
