What is StatFame?

Well, our one-liner is "we provide a detailed record of your sports career statistics and promote it through your favorite social media outlets."

 

That means that if you have ever played or currently play in ANY sport at ANY level and have kept statistics from it, we'll hold that data for you from the past, and track it going forward!  We'll then give you a laundry list of ways to promote (or relive) your past sports moments through places like Twitter and Facebook!  

 

Or, if you're tracking stats for your son or daughter, wouldn't it be neat to be able to show them their stats from a young age?  We think so too!

 

What sports do we track?

Baseball/Softball? Yep, at any level, any age!  These 2 are our first sports to tackle since these are the 2 sports we have the most experience and background.

Football?  Soon enough!

Basketball? You betcha!

Soccer?  Yes!

Golf?  Absolutely!

Lawn darts?  Well, not on the agenda, but maybe if we get enough interest!  :)  Seriously, got other ones that you think are worthy?  Let us know!

 

How do we capture all these stats?

For the historic stats, they're likely all in old scorebooks, newspapers or notepads.  The only real way to capture those is by manually entering those stats.  So we give you a simple interface for entering those stats on the website - We're in talks to whip up a fax/email service where you can send them in and we'll have folks take a stab at your scorecard and input it for you!

 

Real-time stats are a little easier - most methods out there now are digitally based and for that we've built a custom XML API that will allow other services to pipe their data to our backend very easily!  iPhone/iPad apps, desktop apps, custom builds, etc.  If it's got a program, we've got a solution to get the data to us!  Are you using any now?  Let us know!

 

What will you *specifically* be doing if you join the StatFame BETA?

Long story very short, using the platform and telling us your thoughts! To track those thoughts, go join our community over @ GetSatisfaction.com/StatFame! ***ALPHA users: we're moving AWAY from the internal Redmine app - most bugs will have been found and squashed by April 20 (fingers crossed).***

 

Back to the story of BETA... We want you to get the most out of our service and to do that, we need to be able to provide a seamless experience. Hopefully we've enticed you enough to WANT to try out all the bells and whistles as we whip them up!  Please don't be shy about ANY feedback! We want to be completely open about what's cooking, so let us know!  A general idea of what we're looking for:

- add stats 
- add your Twitter and Facebook accounts
- tell us what you like or don't like
- suggest enhancements
- tell your friends about it!
- let us know ANYTHING that comes to mind about the product @ GetSatisfaction.com/StatFame.

Keep in mind that a BETA release is a work-in-progress. While every attempt is made to ensure that data integrity and compatibility between releases is maintained, there are no guarantees, yet.  Please realize that in BETA releases some features may not work properly, therefore, report any bugs or anomalies you discover over at the forum!

 

Why should you want to help us with BETA?

We are currently working on a pay-per-feature setup for revenue, so along with a HUGE thank you from us, your participation/contributions in the BETA stage(s) will get the full StatFame platform FREE of charge!  Yep, if you're actively involved, we'll give you all these bells and whistles on the site at no cost to you, EVER! That's incentive, right?  ;)

 

Are you guys hiring?

We are ALWAYS looking for help on the product, whether that be marketing, coding, promoting, etc. However, currently we are just a small startup with limited payroll funding.  We're MORE than happy to consider you for future employment if you're willing to put in a little sweat-equity now!  Add your name to the list or shoot us an email @ JOBS[at]statfame[dot]com if you're interested in helping out with more than just BETA testing!
